Why make the trip to Par Market

Corner Café sits right in the corner of one of the biggest indoor markets in the South West — so if you haven't been to Par Market itself, here's what you're walking into.

Par Market started out in the mid-1970s as a Sunday outdoor market on this site, and grew steadily until it moved fully indoors in 1991. It's kept growing ever since — today it's one of the largest indoor markets in the South West, with well over 100 independent stalls under one roof selling everything from local crafts, antiques and collectables to fashion, tech, gifts and homeware. The whole thing is undercover, so a wet Cornish afternoon doesn't have to spoil the day out.

The market trades Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, with free parking right outside the door — worth knowing, since the car park fills up by mid-morning on a Sunday. It's only a few minutes from the Eden Project, so plenty of visitors build it into a bigger day out.

Got children with you? Kidzworld — one of the South West's biggest indoor adventure play centres, with slides, ball pits and climbing frames — is on site, and Bolted Escape Rooms sits right next door if you fancy something a bit more of a puzzle.

And right in the corner, past all hundred-plus stalls, is us.

Reasons to seek out stall 6

You've come this far round the market — here's why it's worth the extra few steps.

Fuel the shopping trip

A big breakfast or a Mega Breakfast before you tackle a hundred stalls isn't a bad idea. The Belly Buster is there if you're planning on being a while.

Come for the roast

Wednesday and Sunday, beef, pork or turkey with all the trimmings, from £8. It's usually gone by mid-afternoon, so don't leave it too late.

Just ask

Change it about

Extra roasties, no stuffing, more gravy, a child's plate for an adult appetite — say so at the counter and we'll sort it.

Same faces, every market day.

There's no concept here and no small plates. There's a hot cabinet full of pasties and pies, a fryer that's been on since nine, and a kitchen that will happily rebuild any plate on the menu around what you actually fancy eating.

Big tables, so bring everyone

It's a proper sit-down seating area, not a couple of stools by the window — long tables built for families, market regulars and anyone who's just done a lap of a hundred stalls and needs to put their bags down.
